In my home county it's 7% after a 6% state tax and a local 1% tax. I've never really thought about how much it varies on a macro level but I was working on something and there are huge swings between states. So vote away.

My daughter Kendall had her first steak last night. Nothing fancy...an 8oz flat iron, medium rare cooked @ our local Elk's lodge. She has decided that she loves steak and wants to try different cuts and styles (marinade, dry rub, etc.). I have agreed to become her steak coach. She wants to keep a steak journal and this thread will serve that purpose. Future entries will include pics (when available), cut, cooking method, seasoning, etc. along with her notes....
