The Barron County Sheriff's Department reported that it responded to a 911 call from 1268 Highway 8 at about 1am on Monday, October 16. The call came from a cell phone inside of the home. They believe Jayme was in the home at the time. The call lasted less than a minute and LE was scene within 4 minutes of the end of the phone call....

The trail runner attacked by a mountain lion Monday while running in Horsetooth Mountain Park killed the predator by suffocating it.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials confirmed the man's account of the attack through further investigation and examining the juvenile mountain lion. A necropsy was performed Monday night on the mountain lion to determine if it was sick or injured, which might have prompted the attack.
