So I've mainly been a lurker for the past several years, but now I have a serious question for everyone here.
I've been with my girlfriend for a little over a year now, and we've always had the same view that we would never have a kid. Well, it turns out she got pregnant after not taking her birth control pills for 2 days. We had an ultrasound today and they told us that she's 6 1/2 weeks pregnant.
I asked for her opinion on abortion, and she's 100% against it, however she said she will...

So I got my girlfriend pregnant (advice pls)

Had this conversation with co-workers today. Here's the scenario:

-somebody offers you $10 mil to have your foot surgically amputated. Not like lost in an industrial accident, but a clean cut right above the ankle, performed by a surgeon, no complications.
-It's $10 mil cash in a briefcase. Tax-free. Not like lotteries, etc. where the 'jackpot' is $10 mil, but you have to take a $3 mil lump sum or annual payments. $10 mil cash, period.
-of course, assuming you stay in the US, you'd have...

Kind of an offshoot of the Dad's thread...just told this story in the RTT and thought a separate thread where us dads of girls can share our tales of woe...


My daughter just turned 10, part of her weekly homework is to read a certain amount of minutes per week. The other night she asked if she could do her read time in my bedroom with me while I was drinking beers & playing Madden. I said sure and continued with my game, after a couple minutes the following exchange occurred;
