I am headed to Austin for ACL in September. Originally it was just going to be for the festival but I scheduled some work out there and some time off and will now be in Austin for a little over 3 weeks. I have been there a few times before, but never for such an extended stay. Looking for suggestions on things to do. I will be staying downtown at the Driskill. On the list so far:

Barton Springs
Food: Salt Lick, Hudson's, Hula Hut, and Home Slice (when out on South Congress)
Golf (at least...

I donated blood for the first time last year at a blood drive at work. Since I did it, the red cross calls me on a daily basis. I get calls from multiple local numbers usually at least one a day, about donating blood. I stopped answering, but they don't leave voicemails and will call back when you don't answer. I also get text messages from the 90999 number and emails. I told one of them on the phone to remove me from their call list and after they harassed me more so I agreed to stay on...

Anyone been harassed by the Red Cross?
