UAB running back Greg Bryant has passed away as a result of a gunshot wound suffered early Saturday morning.

The Twitter account from American Heritage in Delray Beach, Fla.,, where Bryant was a prep star, tweeted the news but later backtracked.

According to a UAB spokesperson, family on-site confirmed to head coach Bill Clark that Bryant had passed away.

UAB then provided statements from head coach Bill Clark, athletics director Mark Ingram and president Ray Watts.

I am headed to Austin for ACL in September. Originally it was just going to be for the festival but I scheduled some work out there and some time off and will now be in Austin for a little over 3 weeks. I have been there a few times before, but never for such an extended stay. Looking for suggestions on things to do. I will be staying downtown at the Driskill. On the list so far:

Food: Salt Lick, Hudson's, Hula Hut, and Home Slice (when out on South Congress)

My fiance and I are taking a trip to Austin, TX in a few weeks. She is applying for grad school at UT and will be meeting with faculty etc. Neither of us have ever been to Austin so I need your help. We're going to be looking at apartments for a place to live.

Tell me about Austin. What are the good areas of the city to live? What areas should we avoid? What sites should we definitely check out? What's the best place to eat? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
